Getting
Started
Before using our tile calculator, you’ll need to take some measurements (cm) of your floors or walls.
Please take note of the unit of measurement the calculator uses.
How To Measure Your Floors or Walls
If you have a square or rectangular floor or wall with no windows/doors, simply measure the width and height/ length of your room.
However, many of you may have rooms with irregular shapes or additional areas which expand beyond the main area of the room. In these instances, divide your space into square/rectangular sections and measure these. Once you have measured each, calculate their areas and add together for the total area.
For walls with windows and doors, measure the the window/door width and heights and calculate their area(s), then subtract them from the wall's area.
Don't forget recesses!
If you wish to tile a window recess, sill or alcove, you will need to measure and total these surfaces too!
How Many Tiles Do I Need?
Ensure you input your floor or wall's area - either by using the width and height inputs or the area input - and your tile dimensions. You can also input the tile's price per m² - commonly displayed on all online tile stores - and box quantity for even more clarity on your projects expense.
What's my total price and tile total?
Our calculator displays totals at the bottom, but this is calculated from all the information you have input, so if you have input information for two or more different tiles it will NOT be accurate.
This is great for working out a floor with many sections as you can copy the tile information from one floor or wall to another with just a click!
